School transport assistance
Dear parents and carers,
We are working hard to ensure that we can welcome all children back into school in September, and one key element of our planning is transport assistance for children who are eligible for it.
Our transport team is able to ensure a very high level of hygiene on home to school transport arranged by them and we are confident that we can keep your child safe. We also understand that for some parents infection control presents a concern. Parents and carers may not be aware that the option exists to transport their child to school themselves and claim back a mileage allowance. We are therefore highlighting this option so that you are able to take it up.
Please consider if this option is preferable to you and your child, and if so contact your case officer and the 0-25 duty desk on 0-25ServiceEducationDuty@southglos.gov.uk or by telephone on 01454 865137 by Friday 7th August to let them know. This will enable us to plan routes accordingly.
If we have not heard from you by this date and you currently have the benefit of transport assistance, we will assume that you prefer the Council to make arrangements.
