Edu-Action

Services

Our priority is to safeguard and protect all young people within our duty of care. Edu-Action can provide learning and enrichment opportunities and work towards recognised qualifications for students with a range of additional needs. We do this by focusing education on literacy, numeracy, and communication, while developing social and personal skills.

We can offer temporary mentoring and tutoring for young people with the aim of returning to mainstream education after a brief period with us. We are committed to working in partnership with schools so that students can continue with the same topics being taught within the mainstream environment. Our overriding objective is for the young person to return to school and succeed.

Edu-Action provides creative projects that promote academic development. We educate students on a one- to- one basis to ensure maximum attention and guidance. All planning is differentiated to suit individual requirements. We encourage outdoor learning, experiments and real-life projects relating to personal interest and future employment opportunities.

Mentors offer a wide range of activities such as outdoor/indoor cooking, all sports, t- shirt designing/ printing, construction, gardening, and horticulture. We have an indoor learning centre at Hengrove and an outdoor learning hub in Hartcliffe.

Our aim is to prepare key stage 4 learners for the next step in their personal journey through local colleges and charities. We employ a careers advisor who can support post 16 students by providing weekly one- to-one sessions. We have links with local employers and colleges offering a range of apprenticeships, traineeships, further education, and work experience. Edu-Action will be offering restorative justice and a crime prevention programme in partnership with local police.
