ALP service description
YES specialises in delivering Maths and English tuition and is a registered City and Guilds exam centre with the capability of supporting learners to achieve Functional Skills English and Maths from Entry level one to Level 2.
To ensure effective planning for individual learners, YES concentrate on creating ambitious learning programmes tailored to individual needs:
- developing engagement, skills and confidence
- achieving qualifications.
Tuition packages available for learners.
1:1 Maths/English tuition
Functional Skills qualification package – Suitable for learners where gaining a Functional Skills Qualification is the primary aim from the outset:
- Minimum 2 hours per week per subject for a minimum of 4 short terms
- Exam sessions and entry into suitable Functional skills level qualification.
- Delivered using a relationship-based approach
- Delivered at the YES base or at a suitable partner ALP or school where possible
Engagement and confidence building tuition – Suitable for learners where the focus is on supporting learners to re-engage with education, to build Maths and English skills as well as to increase learners' confidence for learning.
Minimum of 1 hour per week per subject for at least 2 short terms
Delivered using relationship-based approach
Supporting progression within the ‘Cycle of Change’ towards taking action to make a change and maintaining that change.
Delivered at the YES base or a suitable partner ALP or school where possible.
Bespoke tuition – Where the above packages of support are not suitable, YES will work to develop a bespoke package of support, in consultation with the referrer, parents and carers and individual learner.
