The National Autistic Society exists to champion the rights and interests of all people with autism and to ensure that they and their families receive quality services appropriate to their needs.
It offers a range of services including:
National Autistic Society (NAS) Autism Helpline - provides impartial, confidential information and advice for people with autism spectrum disorders and their families and carers. Tel: 0808 800 4104.
Parent to Parent Line is a confidential telephone support service offered to parents of an adult or child with an autism spectrum disorder provided by other volunteer parents. Telephone 0808 800 4106.
Local help is offered in the form of NAS Branches.

Diagnosis and assessment
The Lorna Wing Centre for Autism provides a complete diagnostic, assessment and advice service for children, adolescents and adults with social and communication disorders throughout the UK. This is a tertiary level service.
NAS schools The National Autistic Society runs a range of non profit-making schools and colleges for students of all ages
Adult services The NAS provides a wide range of residential and day services for adults with autism spectrum disorders.
