Learning Partnership West CIC

LPW are a community organisation that provides play, youth work and education to children and young people across South Gloucestershire, Bristol and surrounding areas.

Our Yate Youth sessions run term time and during the holidays, where young people can meet friends and take part in group activities like arts, crafts, song writing, sports and games. We also provide special 'school holiday' trips and a free meal for young people that sign up.

Sessions take place during the Easter, Summer and Winter school holidays which are all free and open to young people aged 8-16 years old and run on a Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday.

More information on our term-time Yate Youth sessions held at Brimsham Youth Wing, St Nix Youth Centre and on The Urbie can be found on our Facebook page www.facebook.com/yateyouth

Other notes

We are pleased to say we have been awarded government funding to again provide special holiday sessions and trips during the Easter, Summer and Winter holidays to children aged 8-16 living in South Gloucestershire and are entitled to benefit-related free school meals.

We have also been advised the following:

We can use up to a maximum of 15% of our funding allocation to provide free or subsided places for children who are not in receipt of benefits-related free school meals but who the local authority believe could benefit from HAF provision. These could include children and young people from the following groups:

  • Children assessed by the local authority as being in need, at risk or vulnerable young carers
  • Looked-after children or previously looked after children
  • Children with an EHC plan (education, health and care)
  • Children with refugee status

There will be limited free places available per day, so we recommend these are booked as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.

Please note if children do not attend their free booked session(s) without notice or are not collected on time, they will be unable to attend in the future.

Click on the FSM free session if you are eligible as above, or email admin@oosc.co.uk for further information or advice.

This provision has been supported by funding from South Gloucestershire Council via the Department of Education through the Holiday Activities and Food Programmed #HAF2023 and #SouthGlos, @educatingovuk
