About the Reading Well books on prescription service

The Reading Well books on prescription service helps you to understand and manage your health and wellbeing through reading.

The books are recommended by health experts, as well as people living with the conditions covered in these books, their relatives and carers.

Reading Well books on prescription for dementia recommends books that you might find helpful if you have dementia, are caring for someone with dementia, or would like to find out more about the condition.  The books provide information and advice, signposting to support for living well, advice for relatives and carers, and personal stories.  The books are available from your local library for an extended loan period of six weeks. If the book you want is unavailable you can reserve it at your local library free of charge.
