We are pleased to publish the final version of South Gloucestershire’s Strategy for Children and Young People 0-25 years with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities 2018-2023.

Many thanks to everyone who contributed to the engagement events and consultation on the draft strategy, which closed on 12 March 2018.

The final strategy incorporated the collective feedback we received from listening to the views of children, families, schools, settings, colleges and stakeholders through the consultation events and survey that ran from December 2017 and the engagement sessions that ran in September and October 2017. It sets out the vision and strategic priorities for South Gloucestershire Local Area for the period 2018 – 2023. The strategy was co-produced by South Gloucestershire Council, South Glos Parent Carers and Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire Integrated Care Board and has been approved by the relevant partnerships and boards.

SEND Co-production Charter 

We have worked with partners to develop and publish the South Gloucestershire Area Co-production Charter: our shared commitment to co-production and working together ‘the South Glos Way’.

Having users at the heart of strategic decision-making helps to bring children and young people, parents and services together to form a shared vision, make a difference, and to bring about real change.

Co-production is not about asking for children, young people or parent carers views on a piece of completed work; it is about working on the piece of work together right from the start.

This charter can also be used by any other groups or organisations in South Gloucestershire to help implement Co-production as a way of working.
