Support for families affected by drugs or alcohol

The Families Also Matter (FAM) service can help families and others affected by someone else’s drug and alcohol use by supporting them with relevant information, coping strategies and problem management.

Developing Health and Independence (DHI) also promotes the benefits of families being involved positively in treatment wherever possible and and when agreed by all as appropriate.

The FAM service offers 1:1 counselling, 4TWO (counselling for any two family members, including those in treatment), family conferences, training and family support groups.

FAM also offers support and advice for professionals on working with families affected by substance misuse.  For further information or to access help available you can:
