Local Accessibility Strategy

South Gloucestershire is a place where all children and young people enjoy a safe and healthy life, achieve their maximum potential and thrive in their community. Our aim is to ensure all children, young people and their families are provided with accessible services and that these are delivered equitably across the education system. For our most vulnerable children and young people this means early identification of need and a targeted response so they have opportunity to thrive and overcome barriers to learning. This will be achieved by enabling children, young people and their families to contribute to the design and development of services through active engagement and participation in our local offer, placing children, young people and families are at the heart of what we do.

The purpose of the Accessibility Strategy is to ensure that all children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities have access to high quality education through provision of  an inclusive curriculum and also in the design of the physical environment.
